Whats the deal with sexy women in entertainment but no sexy politicians? How can we beg for women like Beyonce and Britney Spears but Sarah Palin must wear something conservative? Its really weird that our culture gives women a sexual undertone but some of the most important women in the country are seen in a more asexual light. Oprah never shows cleavage on her show yet she one of our biggest icons. You wouldnt catch Hilary dead in jeans and some peep toe pumps so how come the rest of us associate that with womenhood?
Are our politicans held up to a bigger standard? Are they the conservative women of the 50's? I think we should break away our sexual shackles and not worry ablout the stigmas of the past. We should own our sexuality more. With all the equality and womens rights we have gain we still hold on to many things of the past. Owning our sexyness doesnt make us a whore. We need to come to terms with that.
Moral: let it all hang out!!!!

hmmm. this post has me thinking about my image of women. many people say that michelle obama is dressing somewhat more conservatively (her icon is jackie O) now that barack is running for the white house. though i'm not voting for anyone looking like brittany spears...i have too many questions about how that image will affect her not only in the US but in world politics...

however, just because sarah palin looks professional, is she? probably not.

some random thoughts....to add to the conversation.
